Some reports (Rossignol, 1985; Rossignol & Bonnlander, 1990) support the relationship between PMS & caffine consumption with a dose-response relationship not explained by total fluid intake. This relationship is clearer for more severe symptoms. However, the clinical implication is for women to stop consuming caffine for several months before and with other treatments.
