Born in Montreal and raised in Vancouver, Teresa graduated in 1998 from Trinity Western University with a Bachelors of Science in Biomedical Sciences and a Thesis in Biopsychology. Teresa collaborated with leading researchers in Epilepsy from UBC's Graduate Neurosciences program, Dr John Pinel and furthered the research of Dr Jun Wada, the founder of the Sodium Amytal test for brain lateralization from UBC/VGH Dept of Neurology.
Her passion for furthering treatment methods while maintaining low, or if possible, no side effects and improving treatment success was fostered from her own personal experience having lived with epilepsy since a baby. However, after years of unsuccessful treatment, trying new investigational drugs in clinical trials, and struggling with increasing seizures and intensity, Teresa considered brain surgery.
By May 1995, following 2 years of research and brain mapping, neuropsychological and brain lateralization tests, Teresa shaved her head and underwent a temporal lobectomy to remove the epileptic focus in her right mesial temporal lobe. This neurosurgery performed by BC's leading neurosurgeon Dr Barry Woodhurst and the Vancouver Epilepsy Clinic team was an event which changed her life forever.
The surgery being a success, despite the odds, left her seizure-free and a motivating speaker, mentor and leader in Vancouver's wholistic medical and clinical research professionals. Featured on CBC for Epilepsy Awareness Week in June 2000, Teresa has developed new medical therapies and diagnostics for AD and other neurological conditions with Synapse Technologies and continued on with UBC Dept of Medicine supporting the Dean of Medicine and expanding her education endeavours to include research on Alzheimer's, Parkinson's, ALS as well as epilepsy. She was involved in developing a model for testing pharmaceutical therapies for the above conditions and continues to attend international events, seminars and medical neurosciences conferences.
Teresa has collaborated with UBC, VGH and BC Children and Woman's Hospital Neurology departments and coordinated clinical research on the efficacy of EEG Biofeedback and Neurofeedback for epilepsy, ADD/ADHD, anxiety, and trauma (traumatic brain injuries) non-responsive to traditional medicine. She is a Board Certified Neurotherapist and certified in EEG Biofeedback using electroneurophysiology and electrography devices for training. In addition, she has completed training in Homeopathy at the Canadian College of Natural Nutrition. Teresa enjoys supporting new clients with improving their quality of life, health, attention, focus, concentration and performance while minimizing or elevating undesired medical symptoms.

Aldus Chipman
The British Medical Association officially approved the use of Hypnotherapy in 1955. American and Canadian Medical Associations followed official approval in 1958 and 1965 respectively.
Your Hypnotherapist will guide you through mental exercises that lead you into a deep relaxation. In this focused state, you are more responsive to ideas and images. This does not mean that a hypnotist can control your mind and free will. Although you are more relaxed and focused, you are fully awake and aware of everything going on around you. All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The techniques we teach will enable you to master your own state of awareness so you can better regulate your own physiological functions and psychological responses and achieve your personal goals.
Aldus began working in private practice for 20 years and received his certification in Clinical Hypnotherapy at the Proactive Teaching Institute in Maple Ridge in 1991. Aldus co-authored a four part self-hypnosis training seminar taught to students through the Psychology Futures Network while studying psychology at Simon Fraser University. Since then, Aldus has forged alliances with the American Institute of Hypnotherapy and the Charles Tebbetts School of Hypnotherapy where he has been a guest lecturer.

Naturopathic Doctor
Our Naturopathic Doctor supports clients in their journey to better health by empowering them with information, education and choice. Individualized holistic care is the basis our practice and we believe in creating a multidisciplinary healthcare team to improve client's quality of life and wellness.
In addition to extensive naturopathic training, our Naturopath has Mesotherapy, IV therapy and Chelation Therapy training. We treat individuals of all ages, peak performance goals and health concerns. We maintain a special interest in women's health, pediatrics, gastrointestinal health as well as acute and chronic pain, sports related injuries, concussions and performance enhancement. Our treatments include acupuncture, botanical medicine, homeopathy, nutrition, and physical therapies. We also have a growing passion to work with chronic diseases such as arthritis, autoimmune disease and cancer.
Anti-aging protocols include natural aesthetic procedures, non surgical facelift and facial rejuvenation, cellulite treatment, and breast firming.
Mesotherapy is a minimally invasive procedure that is widely used all over Europe and elsewhere. In addition to being an alternative cosmetic procedure, it is used to treat various injuries and medical conditions. It is a non-surgical solution targeting problem areas with microinjections of either homeopathic or FDA approved conventional medicines such as vitamins, minerals, plant extracts, enzymes and amino acids. Small amounts of these products are delivered directly into the mesoderm (the middle layer of skin) that are highly specific to the condition being treated. Among its many applications, Mesotherapy can be used for eliminating cellulites and local fat deposits, promoting weight loss and provide natural support in the anti aging process as well as treating acute and chronic sprains, strains, muscular aches and joint problems.
Bowen Therapy is a form of muscle and connective tissue therapy. This technique involves a series of gentle, rolling motions sometimes referred to as "soft tissue manipulation" that stimulate the body to heal itself. The Bowen technique usually results in relief of many health problems and specific injuries both acute and chronic. This is done using the body's innate healing power, through the practitioner delivering signals to the nervous system at specific locations on muscles, nerves, tendons or ligaments.
The Bowen technique addresses the entire body by restoring balance via the Autonomic Nervous System (ANS). Most people today live in a state of ongoing stress or sympathetic ANS over stimulation (fight or flight). Healing generally occurs when people are in a more relaxed or parasympathetic dominant state. Fortunately, Bowen technique helps create this sympathetic to parasympathetic shift. This is why patients often enter a deep relaxation or fall asleep during sessions. Each treatment consists of sets of soft tissue manipulations, with 2 minute pauses in between to allow the body to adjust and integrate the changes.
Some of the conditions that often respond well to Bowen work are:
- Back pain and sciatica
- TMJ problems
- Hip, knee, ankle and foot problems
- Neck and shoulder problems
- Carpal tunnel syndrome and tennis elbow
- Groin pain, pelvic tilt and uneven leg length
- Sports and other traumatic injuries
- Menstrual and hormonal problems
- Respiratory problems
- Digestive and bowel problems
Intravenous Therapy. Diet plays a big role in health. Our diet these days mostly provides the basic needs of the body, however it has been shown that certain nutrients have much stronger effects when given at higher doses. IV therapy allows for the rapid delivery of vitamins, minerals, amino acids and antioxidants, by bypassing the digestive tract and going directly into the blood stream. This way we'll reach pharmaceutical doses that would otherwise impossible to attain through oral intake. IV therapy is considered an effective and powerful treatment for conditions such as:
- Fatigue
- Acute bacterial & Viral infections
- Deppression
- Anxiety
- Muscle spasm
- Migrain headache
- Detoxification
- PMS
- Cancer
- Crohn's disease
- Ulcerative colitis
- Nutritional deficiencies
- Post surgery
- Slow recovery from illnesses
Chelation Therapy. Chelation therapy is an effective alternative therapy in treating many chronic and degenerative illnesses caused by heavy metal toxicity. Chelation therapy involves the intravenous infusion of chelating agents such as DMPS or EDTA. EDTA (Ethylene Diamine Tetra-acetic Acid) removes toxic heavy metals, mainly lead, as well as excessive metalic ions such as iron from the body, therefore cleansing the blood and improving circulatory and metabolic functions of the body. It has been shown that EDTA can effectively be used in the treatment of many cardiovascular and circulatory diseases such as carotid artery disease, atherosclerosis, venous stasis disorders, cerebral vascular disease, peripheral vascular disease, coronary artery disease, as well as other degenerative disease such as multiple scelorosis, alzheimer's disease, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and autoimmune disorders. DMPS is a sulfur based compound mainly used for removal of mercury, however it does have an effect on the removal of other heavy metals, such as lead, arsenic and cadmium.

NEWS
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder is not related to I.Q. Some parents are convinced that if their child has ADD or ADHD they will never be "normal" and continually ostracized. ADHD can be treated effectively. There are several effective treatment options available ranging from pharmacology, to cognitive behavioural therapy within psychological services, as well as biofeedback. Even nutrition is believed to play a role and the FeinGold diet is well used for ADD/ADHD.
